Olympics 2019-20

Dear Friends,

The Annual Olympics is an event that celebrates Human Excellence and Grace. Neither of these aspects has anything to do with competition. To ‘compete’ with another puts the integrity of the Human being at stake. The central purpose of a Waldorf School is to develop the individuality of every child and adult. This can only be possible in an environment where envy and jealousy, are not allowed to surface, stealing the joy of collaborative work. We specially request parents to help us build this mood of co‐operation by being appreciative of the efforts of all the children who would partake in the event. We also would invite you to understand that the Olympics is one final aspect of a long process – The process of immersing the young children in the real mood of Ancient Greece where Gods, Mortals and Heroes worked together for the evolution of the Human Being. Every child is a little Heracles given the earnestness with which he or she takes on the tasks set before him or her. Together let us celebrate the earnestness and seriousness of purpose that would be evident in EVERY CHILD’S effort and applaud it . We hope you’d join us in making the Olympics a Celebration of Childhood!
